Wagering today at Windsor --
Good morning….
I’m at Windsor this evening for the Fitzdares Sprint Series Handicap (7.39) and the bet is SOCIETY KISS at the general 13/2….
The name might strike a chord….
…. and that’s because this is the filly that equalled No Nay Never’s record time for juveniles over 5f at Ascot when winning her maiden last May – on her very first racecourse appearance….
Next time out she was sent back to Ascot for the Queen Mary Stakes at the Royal meeting but disappointed having been sent off towards the top end of the betting….
Ahead of her seasonal reappearance at Southwell last month, she hadn’t been seen since that assignment and had been transferred from Ralph Beckett to John Mackie’s care….
She was sent off favourite and ran a perfectly respectable first race back – beaten under a length into third….
…. and I thought her performance could be marked up given that her passage met with interference when a gap closed on her in the final furlong when she was in the process of making what looked like a potentially serious move….
She’s entitled to build on that and if an opening mark of 86 in handicaps isn’t too stiff then she can make her presence felt this evening at a reasonable price….
